  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Double, steal in loss

Carroll went 1-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Padres.

Carroll had one of two hits for Arizona, but the team couldn't deliver a knock with runners in scoring position in a game that could prove to be crucial for its wild-card chances. He doubled to lead off the sixth inning and moved to third on a double steal but was stranded there. Carroll has hit safely in five straight, going 6-for-19 with a double, home runs, three walks, two steals, two RBI and three runs scored.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Homer, steal in loss

Carroll went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and a stolen base in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Padres.

Carroll has hit safely in four straight games, going 5-for-15 in that span. His homer Friday was his first extra-base hit since his two-homer game in Colorado on Sept. 18. The outfielder has played in a career-high 156 games this season, producing 22 homers, 33 steals, 74 RBI, 120 runs scored and a .232/.313/.430 slash line, results well off the marks he established in 2023. However, he has a manageable 19.1 percent strikeout rate, so most of his downturn in production can be attributed to poor luck.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Scores, delivers run

Carroll went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 8-2 win over San Francisco. He was also caught stealing.

Carroll delivered a run on a sacrifice fly as part of Arizona's three-run second inning then trotted home on Pavin Smith's three-run home run in the eighth. Carroll had been scuffling prior to getting a day off Sunday and has bounced back with hits in three straight contests. The year started poorly for Carroll and lingered through much of the season, but a torrid August (1.042 OPS, 11 home runs) has re-established his bona fides as a threat. Through 155 games, the same amount he played in his Rookie of the Year season in 2023, Carroll has 21 homers, 14 triples, 73 RBI, 32 steals and 119 runs scored. His hitting profile didn't change much from last season, and it could be argued that any drop-off in 2024 was attributable to bad luck (.258 BABIP).

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Just resting Sunday

Carroll is receiving a scheduled day off Sunday against the Brewers, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

The Diamondbacks clarified that Carroll's absence is not injury-related, and that he and Christian Walker are simply resting up. Carroll has surged to a .259/.352/.585 slash line, 16 homers and 14 steals since the All-Star break after struggling to the tune of a .212/.301/.334 line in the first half.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Out of lineup Sunday

Carroll is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

As Jack Sommers of Sports Illustrated notes, the Diamondbacks' lineup came out late Sunday and at this point it's unclear whether Carroll's absence is due to injury. Pavin Smith will get the start in right field and lead off against right-hander Frankie Montas.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Swipes three bags Saturday

Carroll went 0-for-2 with three walks, three stolen bases and a run against the Brewers in Saturday's 5-0 win.

All three of Carroll's thefts came over the final three innings -- he swiped second and third base in the seventh frame and notched another steal in the ninth, advancing to third base on an error by Brewers catcher Eric Haase. It was the fifth time this season the speedy outfielder has notched multiple thefts in a contest. Carroll is up to 32 stolen bases on the campaign, a far cry from the 54 he tallied last year but still good enough to be tied for 10th in the majors.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Goes yard twice at Coors

Carroll went 2-for-4 with a walk, two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Rockies.

The 24-year-old took advantage of his final game of the year at Coors Field, launching a solo shot in the first inning and a two-run homer in the second, both off Austin Gomber. The long balls were Carroll's first of September, but he's mostly put his early-season struggles behind him -- over 43 games since the beginning of August, he's batting .282 with 13 home runs, nine steals, 31 RBI and 46 runs.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Logs 29th steal in loss

Carroll went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a hit-by-pitch in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to Colorado.

Carroll swiped his 29th bag of the season in the third inning but was stranded at second base. Following a hot stretch during the month of August, Carroll's bat has faded; he's batting .220 (9-for-41) with one RBI over the last 11 games.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Triples, scores in loss

Carroll went 1-for-3 with a walk, a triple and a run scored in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies.

Carroll tripled to lead off the game and trotted home on Ketel Marte's home run. It was Carroll's league-leading 14th triple. The run scored was his 112th, which ranks tied for fifth in MLB and is somewhat remarkable given the slump he endured during the first half of the season. Since the All-Star break, Carroll has a .944 OPS with 14 homers, eight triples, five doubles, 22 walks, 10 steals, 35 RBI and 52 runs scored over 52 games.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: On base three times

Carroll went 2-for-5 with a walk, two runs and a steal in Sunday's win over the Brewers.

Carroll singled and scored in the opening frame and then later walked, stole second and eventually scored once more in the eighth. That's now six steals this month for Carroll and six runs scored over the last five games, but he has only two RBI since Sept. 3. He's hitting just .232 but has scored 111 runs, which is currently the sixth-most in baseball.
