  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Comes off Triple-A injured list

Triple-A Albuquerque reinstated Davis (shoulder) from its 7-day injured list Saturday. Davis started in Saturday's 10-9 win over Oklahoma City, taking a no-decision while striking out four over 2.2 innings and allowing four earned runs on five hits and one walk. The right-hander had been sidelined at Triple-A since mid-April with a right shoulder injury but was cleared to slot back into the Albuquerque rotation after making two abbreviated rehab starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Exits early versus Seattle

Davis was forced to leave Sunday night's matchup with the Mariners early with an apparent injury, Kelsey Wingert-Linch of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports. Davis pitched three innings, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out two before exiting ahead of the top of the seventh inning. More information on his status will likely be provided after the conclusion of the game.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Optioned to Albuquerque

The Rockies optioned Davis to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Davis was competing for a spot at the back end of Colorado's Opening Day rotation but allowed three earned runs on 10 hits and three walks over six innings during spring training, striking out five. The 26-year-old struggled to an 8.70 ERA over 30 frames in his first taste of the majors last season but is a decent bet to receive another look with the Rockies at some point in 2024.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Optioned to minors

The Rockies optioned Davis to the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Thursday. Davis took a loss in his final outing of the year Wednesday versus the Dodgers after allowing four earned runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. The 26-year-old right-hander posted an overall 8.70 ERA and 26:15 K:BB across 30 major-league innings (six starts, two relief appearances) this season with Colorado.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Takes loss against Los Angeles

Davis (0-4) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 4.1 innings. Davis made it through two scoreless frames before giving up a solo homer to James Outman in the third. The right-hander entered the fifth inning in a tight 1-1 contest, but he allowed six of the seven batters he faced in that frame to reach base, with his only out coming on a sacrifice fly. All of that traffic led to three Los Angeles runs and the fourth defeat of the campaign for Davis. This was presumably his last appearance of the campaign, as he threw 86 pitches. If that's the case, Davis will finish with an 8.70 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 26:15 K:BB over 30 innings in his first extended look in the majors.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Allows three runs in loss

Davis (0-3) took the loss Friday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over five innings against the Cubs. He struck out four. Making his first major-league start since June 20, the 26-year-old right-hander gave up an RBI single to Seiya Suzuki in the bottom of the first inning before then surrendering a two-run homer to Suzuki in the bottom of the fourth. Davis could get one more turn in the Rockies' rotation before their 2023 season comes to a close, but that lines up as a tough matchup against the Dodgers next week at Coors Field.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Picking up start Friday

Davis is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. After being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, Davis worked out of the bullpen later that day in the Rockies' series finale with the Giants, tossing two scoreless innings. With both Kyle Freeland (oblique) and Peter Lambert (biceps) recently moving to the injured list, Davis looks like he'll get the chance to finish the season in the Colorado rotation. Prior to his call-up, Davis made a seven-inning start for Albuquerque on Sept. 13, so he should be sufficiently stretched out for Friday's game. Davis owns a 9.58 ERA, 2.03 WHIP and 18:10 K:BB over 20.2 innings across six appearances (four starts) for the big club this season.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Rejoins big-league club

Davis was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. Kyle Freeland (oblique) and Peter Lambert (biceps) have landed on the injured list the past two days, leaving Colorado with some holes in its starting rotation. Davis has a 10.61 ERA, 2.25 WHIP and 16:10 K:BB across 18.2 major-league innings this season, but he could receive some starts down the stretch given the injuries to Rockies starting pitchers. The Rockies haven't formally clarified whether Davis will immediately slide into the rotation or if he'll be deployed out of the bullpen initially.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Back in action at Triple-A

Davis (undisclosed) has struck out nine while scattering four hits and six walks over 11 scoreless innings between two starts since he was reinstated from Triple-A Albuquerque's 7-day injured list Aug. 13. The 26-year-old righty was on the shelf at Triple-A for about a month due to the unspecified injury. He's fared well in both of his first two starts since returning from the IL and could get another look in the Rockies' big-league rotation in September.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Rehabbing in ACL

Davis (undisclosed) made his first rehab start in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Tuesday, covering three innings and striking out six while allowing one run on three hits and no walks. Davis is likely to make at least one more rehab start in the ACL or with another lower-level affiliate before he makes his return to Triple-A Albuquerque's rotation. The 26-year-old righty has been out of action at Albuquerque since July 9 due to an unspecified injury.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Optioned to Triple-A

Colorado optioned Davis to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday. Davis was lit up for nine earned runs over three innings of relief in Saturday's 25-1 loss to the Angels. The 26-year-old right-hander has a 10.61 ERA in 18.2 innings of work this season in the majors.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Demoted to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Davis to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. After a month-long stay on the injured list due to elbow inflammation before he was optioned to the minors, Davis rejoined the Colorado rotation Tuesday. The rookie right-hander was unable to make a case for a more permanent stint with the big club, however, as he was blasted for five earned runs on five hits and four walks across four innings en route to taking a loss against the Reds. Davis will cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to right-hander Karl Kauffmann, who is expected to serve as a bulk reliever in Wednesday's series finale in Cincinnati.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Chased for five runs

Davis took the loss Tuesday against the Reds after giving up five runs on five hits and four walks while striking out two over four innings. Davis tossed clean innings in the first and fourth but allowed a three-run homer to TJ Friedl in the second and a solo blast to Elly De La Cruz in the third. He generated just five swinging strikes in an unimpressive start. Davis now has a 7.47 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 14:9 K:BB in 15.2 innings. He tentatively lines up for a home start against the Dodgers next week.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Recalled for start

Colorado recalled Davis from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. As expected, Davis gets the call to start for the Rockies in Tuesday night's game against the host Reds. The 26-year-old carries a rough 6.17 ERA in 11.2 major-league innings (three starts) this season and is not a recommended fantasy streamer versus a Cincinnati team that is riding a nine-game winning streak.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Confirmed for start Tuesday

The Rockies will promote Davis from Triple-A Albuquerque to start Tuesday against the Reds, Suzie Hunter of TheDNVR.com reports. Davis will step in -- at least for now -- as the fifth man in Colorado's rotation after Dinelson Lamet was designated for assignment Saturday. Davis has started three games this season for the Rockies, posting a 6.17 ERA and 1.80 WHIP with 12 strikeouts across 11.2 innings. Whether or not Davis sticks around in the Rockies' rotation could depend on his performance against the red-hot Reds on Tuesday.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Out with elbow inflammation

The Rockies placed Davis on the 15-day injured list Sunday with right elbow inflammation. Davis will miss at least two weeks with the inflammation, and he likely picked up the injury during Saturday's loss to the Diamondbacks. The Rockies have recalled Nick Mears from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Takes first loss of season

Davis (0-1) took the loss Saturday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks over two innings in an 11-4 loss to the Diamondbacks. He struck out two. Davis was completely dominated by the Arizona offense after giving up just one run over his first 9.2 innings pitched this year. The rookie was bound to have a bad game at some point, and he'll have plenty of chances for redemption going forward. The right-hander's next opportunity is tentatively scheduled to be against the Mets on the road.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Strikes out five in solid start

Davis did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and zero walks over 4.2 innings during a 4-3 loss to the Phillies. He struck out five. Making his second start in place of German Marquez (forearm), Davis once again served as an admirable fill-in option. He was tagged for two runs (one earned) in a shaky fourth that included an error, a hit by pitch and a run-scoring balk, but other than that, he was solid and got pulled in the fifth after giving up a two-out single to Nick Castellanos. Through two starts (9.2 innings), Davis holds a 0.93 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP and a strong 10:3 K:BB.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Impressive in first start

Davis allowed three hits and three walks over five shutout innings during Sunday's loss to Seattle. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision. Davis sprinkled three walks and three singles throughout his first career MLB start. He forced inning-ending double plays in the third and fourth frames to escape danger. The 25-year-old righty had just six strikeouts in 12.2 Triple-A innings before Sunday's outing. With German Marquez (forearm) on the injured list, Davis will likely stick around for another start, which is projected to be in Philadelphia next week.

  • Rockies' Noah Davis: Confirmed for start Sunday

Davis will start Sunday's series finale against the Mariners, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports. Davis will get the ball on Sunday to replace German Marquez (forearm) after Marquez was placed on the injured list. Davis has made three starts for Triple-A Albuquerque thus far with a 4.26 ERA and 1.72 WHIP over 12.2 innings. He gave up two runs in one inning in his only MLB appearance of 2022.
