The Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.
Soriano was called up by Miami on Sept. 7, and he allowed six runs over 6.1 frames in three appearances during his time with the big club. He's being sent down in favor of Shaun Anderson, who had his contract selected from Jacksonville on Friday.

Marlins' George Soriano: Up from Jacksonville
Rotowire
The Marlins recalled Soriano from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
Soriano owns a 6.26 ERA and 1.39 WHIP through 23 innings in the majors this season, but he'll be promoted nonetheless to give the Fish another fresh arm to use out of the bullpen. He'll most likely be used in low-leverage situations while with Miami.

Marlins' George Soriano: Tagged with loss Monday
Rotowire
Soriano (0-1) recorded his second hold of the season but was stuck with the loss Monday against the Giants, getting charged with three runs on one hit and two walks over two-thirds of an inning.
The right-hander entered the game in the top of the seventh to protect a 3-1 lead, but after giving up a run and leaving two runners on base after he got the hook, Soriano watched Andrew Nardi allow both inherited runners to score. Soriano has had a rough start to the season, but the same could be said about most of the Marlins' bullpen. Through seven innings over eight appearances, he carries a 10.29 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB.

Marlins' George Soriano: Looks ready for high-leverage role
Rotowire
Soriano struck out four over 1.2 perfect innings of relief during Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Nationals.
Entering the game in the fourth inning, the 24-year-old right-hander struck out four of the five batters he faced, with only CJ Abrams managing to get the ball into play on a routine groundout to second base. Soriano gave the Marlins solid innings in his big-league debut last season but didn't see much high-leverage work, recording only one save and zero holds over 26 appearances (52 innings). That usage figures to change in 2024, especially with JT Chargois (neck) not yet 100 percent heathy and Huascar Brazoban still absent from camp due to visa issues.

Marlins' George Soriano: Heads back to bullpen
Rotowire
Soriano struck out six and allowed two hits and three walks over 3.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Yankees.
Soriano made a three-inning start in his prior appearance Aug. 5 in Texas, but he ended up moving back to the bullpen with the Marlins calling up Eury Perez from Double-A Pensacola to fill out the No. 5 spot in the rotation. Because starter Jesus Luzardo was roughed up for seven runs in 3.1 innings before departing the contest, Soriano ended up making an extended mop-up appearance to help save the rest of the Miami bullpen. The 24-year-old right-hander is expected to continue serving in a multi-inning relief role, though he's pitched well enough this season to garner consideration for higher-leverage spots.

Marlins' George Soriano: Starting Saturday
Rotowire
Soriano will take the ball to start Saturday's game against the Rangers, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Soriano has been excellent in 11 appearances out of the Miami bullpen this season, posting a 1.98 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 27.1 innings, and he will be rewarded with his first career start in the big leagues. The 24-year-old has thrown as many as four innings in an appearance this season and will be well rested, but it's a stretch to think he could pitch deep enough into Saturday's game to qualify for a win.

Marlins' George Soriano: Returns to Triple-A
Rotowire
The Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
After tossing 3.2 scoreless innings of long relief in Saturday's 7-0 loss to Atlanta, Soriano will be rewarded with a demotion to the minors. The move back to Triple-A is less about the Marlins' dissatisfaction with Soriano's performance than it is a desire for the big club to add a fresh arm to the bullpen for Sunday's series finale with Atlanta. The Marlins called up right-hander Jeff Lindgren from Jacksonville to replace Soriano in the bullpen and on the 26-man active roster.

Rotowire

Marlins' George Soriano: Heads to Triple-A
Rotowire
The Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
He's a victim of the Marlins needing a fresh arm in the bullpen, as he wasn't going to be available for a bit after throwing 47 pitches Sunday in Cleveland. Soriano pitched well in his first taste of the majors, though, so he should be back with the big club before long.

Marlins' George Soriano: On cusp of MLB debut
Rotowire
The Marlins recalled Soriano from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The 24-year-old right-hander could be available as a multi-inning option after compiling a 2.72 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 85:40 K:BB across 76 frames between Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola in 2022.

Marlins' George Soriano: Sent to Triple-A
Rotowire
The Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Soriano was knocked around during his two relief appearances this spring, but he seems to have found a home in the bullpen after moving there midseason in 2022. He should push to debut in 2023.
