Memorial Day is supposed to be about honoring and remembering those who lost their lives defending the country. But one of the ways we observe the day is by celebrating those who survived their service.

That group includes the Mariners, who asked a 92-year-old World War II veteran named Burke Waldron to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Monday's game:

If there's two thoughts we all probably share about this story it's: 1) an appreciation for Waldron's service; and 2) a hope that we can throw as well if/when we reach his age.
