Josh Willingham may be the Twins' most attractive trade chip, but there's a good chance the team won't part with him, according to 1500ESPN.com's Phil Mackey and Darren Wolfson.
Willingham isn't "off-limits," but the team is not actively shopping him. The 33-year-old outfielder also has performed well this season, and is still under Twins' control through the 2014 season.
After signing a three-year, $21 million deal with the Twins this off-season, Willingham has hit .268/.381/.563.
It's more likely the Twins will wait and deal Willingham once he's further into his contract, said Mackey.
The Reds, Padres, Braves and Nationals sent scouts to watch Francisco Liriano pitch recently. The Yankees and Mets also have interest, according to CBSSports.com's Scott Miller. And the Blue Jays are also involved.
The Reds could have also been scouting Denard Span, who would be a good fit in their leadoff spot.
Matt Capps and Carl Pavano could also be dealt, according to Mackey. Pavano won't pitch until August, however, and would have to be traded before the August 31 waiver deadline.
