This isn't all too surprising, but the Cubs advancing in the playoffs as the prohibitive World Series favorite has worked many long-suffering Cubs fans in the Midwest into a frenzy. And they are ready to spend lots of dough to see some of these games in person.

The venerable Wrigley Field will host Games 1 and 2 of the NLCS and possibly Games 6 and 7, if necessary. If the Cubs advance to their first World Series since 1945, they'll get at least Games 3 and 4 and then maybe Game 5, if necessary.

The secondary ticket market, regarding these games, is exploding.

Per TicketCity.com, here's what some of the tickets are running (again, this is the secondary ticket market, not face value tickets priced by the Cubs themselves):

For Game 1 of the NLCS, the median ticket price is $490. Many of the tickets are in the four figures and some might even work their way up into five figures.

The real insanity comes if the Cubs make it to the World Series. People are already ponying up.

For Game 3 of the World Series -- which, again, isn't even guaranteed -- the median price is $3,250. Standing room only tickets are going for over $2,000. Box seats near the Cubs' dugout? Try $26,000 a ticket (not a typo).

Moving forward to Game 5 (where there's a chance the Cubs could be clinching their first title since 1908), the median price is $3,858. Box seats in the areas close to the dugouts are up to $35,000. Per. Ticket.

That will only go up with each game the Cubs win moving forward, too.

The Cubs are doing great things so far on the field in 2016. One of the things they are doing off the field is making ticket brokers rich.
