Ah, the Postage Stamp. The most wicked 123-yard par 3 in the world. Rory McIlroy found out the hard way on Tuesday as he took six shots to get out of one of the five bunkers surrounding the hole and made a nine on the par 3. That will lose you an Open Championship, so thankfully it is just a practice round.
The video of McIlroy's struggles starts at the 5:30 mark below.
On Monday, Jason Day talked about how tough the hole can be to lpay.
"The postage hole is pretty neat with regards that it's so short, but you get that left-to-right wind either in or down off the left," said Day. "And if you get anything kind of curving on the wind, it can go down and feed into that bunker down in the bottom right there. And if you overdo it, that bunker on the top left is pretty devilish."
McIlroy will likely be shooting away from all of these when play starts on Thursday.
