Golf Channel, here is some free programming for you. John Daly and Andrew “Beef” Johnston took to Periscope on Wednesday evening and held a 30-minute question-and-answer session where they discussed everything from their best shots, favorite breakfast foods and most under par they have ever been on tour.
They called it the “Meat and Beef Show.”
It was strangely compelling as both men are fairly fascinating to listen to and have incredible backstories. Daly obviously has one of the wilder tales in PGA Tour history as he came from nowhere to win the 1991 PGA Championship before going on to win an the British Open in 1995 at St. Andrews.
Beef’s story is a little more traditional but no less stunning. He made a name for himself last year by winning on the European Tour and finishing eighth after semi-contending on the weekend at the Open at Royal Troon.
Anyway, the golf world needs more of this. These two can saturate the market as heavily as anybody else in golf, but throw them together and you get a different, more intriguing layer of content. Also, watching Beef try to pronounce “Arby’s” in the second video is just spectacular.
