Tiger Woods' arraignment for a DUI charge he received on May 29 has been pushed back a month from its original date.
Woods will now be arraigned on Aug. 9 after the presiding judge on his case canceled the initial July 5 hearing, according to the Associated Press, which cites court documents.
Though Woods was charged with driving under the influence and failed field sobriety tests, he claimed no alcohol was in his system; two Breathalyzers administered upon his arrival at the police station confirmed as much.
Woods claimed an unexpected reaction to prescription drugs -- Vicodin and Xanax, potentially among others – caused the incident. His car was pulled over on the side of the road with half of the vehicle still in the right lane and a turn signal on. Damage was found on both bumpers.
The AP notes that Woods could seek and be granted a diversion program, which would allow his DUI charge to be downgraded to reckless driving. In that case, he would likely perform community service, pay a fine and serve probation while taking driving courses.
