Sergio Garcia, like many of you, is probably still incredulous at times that he won the Masters. Like a kid who just achieved his greatest dream, Garcia could be not more giddy about having defeated Justin Rose in a playoff at Augusta National earlier this year.

This is refreshing to see. In this sport (and all sports), it is easy to get jaded and cynical and recognize the disconnect between fans and athletes. But Garcia, who has earned over $60 million on the course alone in his career, seems like he is enjoying this like one of us would. There is a joy there that might not have been had he won his first major championship at 24 or 32.

"I don't know how to explain it," said Garcia. "It's funny. Yes, I'm extremely happy and my family, my fiance, her family, everyone around me, my team ... we're all really, really happy, and I think we've known what's happening. But once in a while we kind of look at each other and say, 'you know, we won the Masters.' It just sounds amazing. It's good to be able to do that and have that feeling over and over."
