The 2016 U.S. Open will be the toughest test of the year for the golfers in the field this week as Oakmont Country Club is at its most diabolical when handed over to the USGA.
The rough is long and thick and the greens are lightning quick, which has many anticipating another over-par winner this week, as was the case in 2007 at Oakmont. Among those expecting high scores is defending U.S. Open champion Jordan Spieth (8-1), who also happens to be among the favorites to win this week, just behind Rory McIlroy (7-1) and Jason Day (13-2).
The only player even close to the rest of the Big Three on the odds sheet is Dustin Johnson (12-1), who is still looking for his first win of the season but has been playing spectacular golf. Everyone else in the field is sitting at 25-1 or worse on the most recent batch of odds from Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas.
