Kane (ribs) may begin cardio work next week, though he isn't likely to return to game action until mid-November, The Buffalo News reports.
Kane has only appeared in one game this season, and that was the season opener against the Habs on Oct. 13, when he cracked his ribs upon crashing into the boards while in pursuit of the puck. Still, the Sabres have not placed the gritty winger on injured reserve.
