Rogers caught four passes for 39 yards on four targets in Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles.
Rogers overcame a four-interception performance from Steelers QB Landry Jones, who filled in for Ben Roethlisberger (coach's decision) on a severely depleted first-team offense. With Antonio Brown (coach's decision) and Markus Wheaton (undisclosed) also held out, Rogers got most of the slot work throughout the first half, while Sammie Coates and Darrius Heyward-Bey handled most of the snaps outside. A 2015 UDFA who spent all of last year on injured reserve, Rogers entered camp as a fringe roster candidate, but he could make a push for Week 1 slot snaps in three-wide sets. However, Coates is still the more appealing fantasy commodity, offering a much higher ceiling than Rogers in the event he locks down a top-three spot at wide receiver. The Steelers might also opt for a rotation behind Brown and Wheaton.
