Thompson signed a second 10-day contract with the Pelicans on Sunday.
Though he's only averaging 4.6 points on 28 percent shooting from the floor in his five appearances with the Pelicans, Thompson has seemingly gained the trust of coach Alvin Gentry due to his defensive abilities. The former 76ers wing has since settled in as the team's starting shooting guard, logging 25-plus minutes in each of the last four contests. While the big workloads are encouraging to see, until Thompson demonstrates a little more scoring acumen, he can probably remain off the fantasy radar in most deeper leagues.
