The Brewers could call up Gasser from Triple-A Nashville later this week to make his MLB debut, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The Brewers will likely have a temporary opening in their rotation in the near future with Freddy Peralta facing a five-game suspension, and manager Pat Murphy said that Gasser "would be a strong candidate" to fill the spot. Gasser started for Nashville on Sunday, which would line him up to start Friday against the Cardinals if the Brewers elect to call him up. Gasser has produced a 5.25 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB in 12 innings through his first three starts with Nashville.... See More ... See Less

Brewers' Robert Gasser: Ready for season debut
Triple-A Nashville reinstated Gasser (elbow) from its 7-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus Louisville. Gasser will be making his season debut Wednesday after he missed nearly a month while recovering from a bone spur in his left elbow. He'll likely be on a light pitch count Wednesday but should steadily ramp up over his subsequent outings.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Robert Gasser: Could return this week
Gasser (elbow) "could be ready to pitch for Triple-A Nashville as soon as this week," Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Gasser has been on the shelf for nearly a month due to a bone spur in his left elbow, but he was hoping to return in mid-to-late April and could indeed do so. Gasser pitched exclusively at the Triple-A level last season and is one of Milwaukee's top pitching prospects, so he could be an option for the big-league club once he gets his pitch count built up.... Brewers' Robert Gasser: Targeting mid-to-late April
Brewers general manager Matt Arnold said Wednesday that Gasser (elbow) is progressing well and targeting a mid-to-late-April return, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The left-hander was diagnosed late in spring training with a bone spur in his left elbow. It's unclear whether Gasser has been cleared to begin a throwing program, but positive steps are being made in his recovery. Once healthy, Gasser looks to be a good bet to make his major-league debut sooner rather than later. He was placed on Triple-A Nashville's 7-day injured list last Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Robert Gasser: Sent to minor-league camp
The Brewers re-assigned Gasser to minor-league camp Tuesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. While he didn't wind up cracking the Opening Day rotation, Gasser impressed this spring and seems poised to get a shot with the big club before long. The southpaw permitted three runs with an 11:2 K:BB over 10 innings during Cactus League action. He'll join Triple-A Nashville's rotation for now.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Robert Gasser: Making good impression
Gasser tossed three scoreless innings of relief in an exhibition game Friday. He allowed two hits and posted a 3:1 K:BB in the outing. Gasser allowed two earned runs over two innings in his lone start of the spring, but he has sandwiched scoreless one-inning and now three-inning appearances around that and owns a 6:2 K:BB over six total frames. Gasser is one of Milwaukee's top prospects and is in the mix for a rotation spot with the big club, but with him not yet on the 40-man roster, the Brewers could assign him to the minors in order to retain other pitchers that are.... Brewers' Robert Gasser: Racking up strikeouts at Triple-A
Gasser went 3-0 with a 2.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 29:5 K:BB in 18 innings over his last four starts with Triple-A Nashville. Gasser was knocked around a bit in July, but he has bounced back in a big way, striking out at least nine batters in all three of his August starts and keeping opposing baserunners to a minimum. Gasser has never pitched at the big-league level, but there's a chance he could do so before the campaign comes to a close.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Robert Gasser: Sent to minor-league camp
Gasser was assigned to minor-league camp on Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Gasser was acquired by the Brewers from the Padres in the Josh Hader trade last summer, and he was promoted to Triple-A Nashville in August of 2022. He accrued a 4.44 ERA and 1.61 WHIP with a 31:16 K:BB across 26.1 frames with the Sounds and could be a candidate to join the Brewers later on in 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Robert Gasser: Rises to Triple-A
The Brewers promoted Gasser from Double-A Biloxi to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. Gasser has already received a pair of promotions since being acquired from the Padres on Aug. 1 as part of the Josh Hader deal. After finishing his time in the San Diego organization at High-A Fort Wayne, Gasser began his tenure with Milwaukee at Biloxi, where he dazzled over his four starts (2.21 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB in 20.1 innings). Gasser will get a tougher test over the final few weeks of the minor-league season while he heads to the International League, but a strong showing at Nashville down the stretch could put him in position for an early-season call-up to Milwaukee in 2023.... Brewers' Robert Gasser: Opening at Double-A in new system
Gasser, whom the Brewers acquired from the Padres on Monday, will report to Double-A Biloxi, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Along with outfielder Esteury Ruiz, Gasser was one of two prospects that the Brewers received to go with two big-league pitchers (Taylor Rogers and Dinelson Lamet) in exchange for All-Star closer Josh Hader. The Brewers won't hesitate to give the 23-year-old lefty a stiffer test as he joins the organization, as he'll climb to the Double-A level for the first time in his career. Gasser turned in a 4.18 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 115:28 K:BB across 90.1 innings over his 18 starts at High-A Fort Wayne prior to the trade.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Robert Gasser: Dealt to Milwaukee
Milwaukee acquired Gasser, outfielder Esteury Ruiz, left-hander Taylor Rogers and right-hander Dinelson Lamet from San Diego on Monday in exchange for Josh Hader, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. The Brewers have such a good track record of targeting and developing young pitching that this move alone should slightly boost Gasser's value in dynasty leagues. He's a deceptive southpaw whose low arm angle allows all of his pitches to play up. Gasser throws a low-90s fastball, an above-average slider and a solid changeup. The 23-year-old has logged a 4.18 ERA, 3.27 FIP, 1.26 WHIP, 115 strikeouts and 28 walks in 90.1 innings across 18 starts at High-A.... See More ... See Less
