Eaton is rumored to be the subject of trade talks with Toronto, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
The Jays are looking to acquire a left-handed-hitting leadoff man with a strong OBP, and Eaton fits that description perfectly. In 2016, the outfielder played in a career-high 157 games while slashing .284/.363/.428. After the All-Star break, Eaton hit .301 with an .841 OPS, well above his career marks of .284 and .771. The 27-year-old still has three seasons remaining on the five-year, $23.5 million deal he signed with the White Sox in 2015, which also includes a team option for 2020 and 2021. With the Sox floundering, there is a legitimate chance the club may be willing to hit the reset button this offseason and move some pieces.
