Travis tore his ACL in his left knee during Sunday's game against Triple-A Indianapolis and will be out for the rest of the 2016 season, Tim Britton of the Providence Journal reports.
Travis is the No. 7 prospect for the Red Sox, slashing .273/.333/436 at the Triple-A level in 2016. He will undergo surgery to repair his ligament, and hopefully be ready to play by next season. This most effects the infield depth of the Red Sox organization, especially at the first base position. Josh Ockimey, Boston's No. 10 prospect is also a first basemen, but he has just 155 at-bats at Low-A Greenville and is nowhere near ready for the majors.
