Gomez seems to be in line to sit atop the Rangers' batting order for 2017, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
The electric outfielder had his fair share of struggles over the past couple seasons, but once he slotted into the pole position of the Rangers' lineup, Gomez batted .328 with a .391 OBP. He'll presumably have more opportunities to score runs and swipe bases in the leadoff spot, which will help Gomez's value as long as he can continue to hit like he did following his trade to the Rangers.
