NL-only Fantasy leagues are still in play, even in a 60-game season, and are subject to the same considerations that we're experiencing in mixed leagues. But with an even narrower margin for error, just like we saw in our AL-only mock this week

Despite the increased pressure to get it right (given fewer fallback options available), the players who've tested positive for COVID-19 so far — a group that includes Charlie Blackmon, Tommy Pham and Scott Kingery — weren't actually discounted much. Even Freddie Freeman, who is not only the most high-profile of the bunch but also one of the few to publicly disclose symptoms, slipped maybe just 5-6 spots, from the end of Round 1 to the middle of Round 2. I can confirm I passed him over for Nolan Arenado at ninth overall and again for Walker Buehler at 12th overall, but Dan Gilbert of the Fantasy Fisticuffs podcast said enough was enough at Pick 15.

Perhaps the shortage of quality first baseman in the NL player pool contributed to decision. Players like Joc Pederson, Christian Walker and Howie Kendrick may have to pass as starters even in just a 10-team league. Shortstop, thought to be one of the deepest positions, experiences a similar drop-off once Corey Seager, my seventh-ranked player at the position, goes off the board, but at least lower-end options like Amed Rosario, Paul DeJong and Jean Segura can meet specific categorical needs. Meanwhile, the saves shortage came into focus about halfway through the draft, when Sean Doolittle and Mark Melancon went off the board back to back early in Round 10.
