
Saturday marked the 45th anniversary of a plane crash that killed 75 people.
The crash of Southern Airways Flight 932 on Nov. 14, 1970 killed all 75 passengers on board, including 37 Marshall football players, eight members of the coaching staff, 25 boosters and five flight crew members.
On Saturday, in its game against Florida International, Marshall pulled off a dominant 52-0 shutout victory. It wore these uniforms to honor the 75 people lost in the crash.

It was somewhat poetic as well that Marshall's first touchdown of the game came with 11:14 left on the clock in the first quarter to make the score 7-0. Put those numbers together and you get 11-14-70, the day of the crash.

Marshall's in-state rival also commemorated the occasion by wearing helmets from its 1970 team in its win against Texas.
