The Anu Solomon era at Arizona is officially over. Where it picks up next remains to be seen.
The redshirt junior quarterback announced on Instagram on Tuesday that he plans to transfer from the Wildcats program after injuries took their toll in each of the last two seasons.
"God has a plan for me. I've prayed for direction, patience, and knowledge to know when it comes," Solomon wrote. "Through much adversity, I will never forget those who supported me, stuck by me, and believed in me; God, my family, my girlfriend, and close friends. From highs and lows, and the unlucky injuries I suffered from the past 2 seasons, I am blessed to have a fresh start at another program to finish out my senior year."
Solomon became the first freshman quarterback to start a season opener for the Wildcats in 2014, and started in all 14 games that year. He led all freshmen quarterbacks in the Football Bowl Subdivision with 3,793 passing yards.
His sophomore campaign, while solid, was hampered some by injuries that caused him to miss two games plus some time in two others. Solomon then missed six games this season with a knee injury and then missed the second half of the Oregon State game in November because of a foot injury. Sophomore Brandon Dawkins has played most of the year in relief of Solomon.
Per Zach Rosenblatt of the Arizona Daily Star, Solomon may be able to play at another FBS program right away as a graduate student.
