March Madness is just days away from kicking off, which means we’re almost exactly a year removed from last season’s NCAA Tournament and wild national championship finish. As you might remember (and you should), the championship game between Villanova and North Carolina came down to the final seconds before a Kris Jenkins’ 3-pointer at the buzzer clinched the title for the Wildcats.
It was mayhem, and many people will always be able to recall where they were when it happened.
One father remembers the moment fondly because his daughter, who picked Villanova to win it all, had a priceless reaction. So he gave her a Lego reenactment of the whole thing as her birthday present -- the whole thing is just amazing.
Here’s what he said in his Instagram post:
My oldest daughter was born right at the beginning of March Madness. I remember watching non-stop basketball in the hospital and the first few days of bringing her home. Maybe that’s part of the reason her and I have shared a special bond when it comes to the NCAA Tournament. Last year she picked @novambb to win the whole thing and I picked @unc_basketball. I’ll never forget watching her reaction to the final 10 seconds of that game. This year for her birthday I wanted to do something special for it. So I told her I was going to make a Lego re-enactment video dedicated to her. Happy Birthday Jovie! I hope this year is as magical as last year.
We hope it’s as magical as last year, too. Here’s to March!
