Kansas basketball star Josh Jackson has been charged with one count of criminal damage to property for allegedly kicking the car of a female student in December.
The charge is a Class A misdemeanor.
According to a report obtained by KSHB, the victim, in the early hours of Dec. 9, allegedly threw a drink in the face of a person described as Jackson’s friend -- presumably Kansas teammate Lagerald Vick, whom a school investigation found “likely hit” a female student in December 2015, according to the Kansas City Star. The victim in that case is the same person whose car was allegedly damaged in this case. Jackson did more than $1,000 worth of damage, investigators believe.
Jackson and Vick have played in all 28 of KU’s games this season. The Jayhawks are 25-3 in those games and already the winners of a 13th straight Big 12 title. They’re ranked second in the CBS Sports Top 25 (and one).
Jackson is a projected top-five pick in June’s NBA Draft.
The 6-foot-8 wing is averaging 16.5 points and 7.1 rebounds.
