CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) Jacob Hutson's 14 points helped Northern Iowa defeat Bradley 74-63 on Sunday.

Hutson also contributed seven rebounds for the Panthers (15-12, 9-7 Missouri Valley Conference). Bowen Born scored 12 points while shooting 3 for 7 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line, and added three steals. Nate Heise had 11 points and was 4 of 11 shooting (3 for 6 from 3-point range).

The Braves (18-9, 10-6) were led by Connor Hickman, who recorded 22 points. Malevy Leons added 16 points and two steals for Bradley. In addition, Duke Deen had 11 points and two steals.

Northern Iowa took the lead with 16:00 remaining in the first half and did not give it up. Born led his team in scoring with 10 points in the first half to help put them ahead 44-26 at the break. Northern Iowa was outscored by Bradley in the second half by a seven-point margin, but still wound up on top, while Hutson led the way with a team-high 12 second-half points.
