The Associated Press released its preseason All-America team in men's basketball Wednesday.

The honorees: Josh Hart of Villanova, Grayson Allen of Duke, Dillon Brooks of Oregon, Monte Morris of Iowa State and Ivan Rabb of Cal comprise the first team.

Allen's 61 votes (out of 65) led the way, while Rabb had 57, Hart had 53, Brooks had 30 and Morris had 24.

The AP reports that Indiana sophomore big Thomas Bryant, Washington freshman guard Markelle Fultz and Kansas freshman forward Josh Jackson were the closest cuts.

Allen, Hart, Brooks, Fultz and Jackson were named CBS Sports' preseason First Team All-Americans.

Hart is leading a Villanova team that will try to become the first men's college basketball team to repeat as champion since Florida in 2006 and '07. He's also the first Villanova player since Kerry Kittles 21 years ago to earn preseason All-America status.

Morris makes for the second straight Iowa State player to be named a preseason All-American. Georges Niang earned the honor last season. The selection of Brooks and Rabb mark the first time Oregon and Cal have earned distinction with a preseason All-American pick.
