Creighton’s Justin Patton is entering the NBA Draft and hiring an agent -- meaning his college basketball career is over after one season.
“I haven’t coached many young men with the talent and potential that Justin Patton has,” Creighton coach Greg McDermott said. “It’s amazing to think of the strides he has made in the last few years, and I’m excited to see where he’ll be a few years from now.”
Patton really is an amazing story.
He’s the rare one-and-done redshirt freshman.
Patton was ranked 87th in the Class of 2015 by 247 Sports. McDermott redshirted him last season. Then the 7-foot center averaged 12.9 points and 6.2 rebounds in 25.3 minutes per game this season while helping the Bluejays make the NCAA Tournament. And now he’s a projected top-20 pick in the NBA Draft by most draft analysts.
