Brissett (hamstring) doesn't appear likely to play Sunday versus the 49ers, but the Commanders will evaluate him in a pregame workout before making a decision on his status, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Brissett is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game after he finished Week 17 prep as a limited practice participant, but at this stage, he looks poised to turn the Washington offense back over to the struggling Sam Howell, whom Brissett replaced in both of the past two games. On Wednesday, head coach Ron Rivera announced that Brissett was replacing Howell as the team's starting quarterback, but Brissett reported tightness in his hamstring to the team Thursday before his reps were capped in Friday's session. Brissett thus will be subject to the pregame workout in order to get a sense of his ability to handle the rigors of game action, with his status becoming known when Washington posts its inactives about 90 minutes before a 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Washington signed Jake Fromm off its practice squad Saturday, an indication the team doesn't expect to have Brissett available as anything more than an emergency No. 3 quarterback.
