The Mets optioned Vazquez to Triple-A Iowa on Thursday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports. Vazquez's first stint in the majors lasted a little more than a week, but he received just one plate appearance and struck out. Pete Crow-Armstrong was called up from Iowa to take Vazquez's place on the active roster.... See More ... See Less

Cubs' Luis Vazquez: Recalled to big club
The Cubs recalled Vazquez from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday. Vazquez, 27, has hit .262 with three home runs over 39 games with Iowa this season. He will provide some reinforcement in the infield with Nico Hoerner (hamstring) banged up and would be making his major-league debut if/when he gets into a game.... See More ... See Less -
Cubs' Luis Vazquez: Sent to minor-league camp
The Cubs optioned Vazquez to Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports. Vazquez was added to the 40-man roster in November in order to protect him from being selected during the Rule 5 Draft, but he was unable to carve out a place on Chicago's Opening Day roster. The 24-year-old had an .809 OPS in 66 games at Triple-A last season and is a likely bet to make his MLB debut at some point in 2024.... See More ... See Less

Meghan Montemurro@M_Montemurro2D agoAn ill-advised send on Suzuki's double and Madrigal, the tying run, is easily thrown out on home on relay throw from De La Cruz. Bellinger follows with a fly out to RF and instead of the Cubs tying the game had Madrigal been on third, Cubs lose 5-4 to Reds. Brutal game for Cubs.
