Hoskins went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 3-1 loss to Philadelphia. Hoskins' seventh-inning blast off Zack Wheeler was the Brewers' only run of the night. The 31-year-old still managed to be productive, however, notching his second stolen base of the season in a strong all-around performance. Since being activated off the 15-day injured list May 31, Hoskins has started three of four games for the Brewers, batting 4-for-10 with one home run and one steal.... See More ... See Less

Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Resting Sunday
Hoskins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox. Hoskins will get a break from the starting lineup after going 3-for-9 in the first two games of the series following his return from the injured list. Jake Bauers will get the start at first base and bat sixth.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Back in lineup Friday
Hoskins will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth in Friday's game against the White Sox. Hoskins has been out since May 13 due to a right hamstring strain, and he'll jump back into the lineup after being activated off the injured list Friday. He'll face off against White Sox right-hander Erick Fedde.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Return this weekend possible
Hoskins (hamstring) could be activated as soon as this weekend's series versus the White Sox, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Hoskins has ramped up his running in recent days and is nearly ready to play in games. It's possible the Brewers will ask him to play a few rehab games with Single-A Wisconsin this weekend, and if that happens, it will set Hoskins up for a return Monday at his old stomping grounds in Philadelphia. Hoskins has missed the last two weeks of action with a right hamstring strain.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Could return next week
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Hoskins (hamstring) ran on the field and is progressing in his running program, and it's possible the first baseman returns from the injured list early next week in Philadelphia, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The 31-year-old landed on the shelf May 14 with a strained right hamstring, and he's now ramping up his rehab work after a brief shutdown period. A return for the Phillies series is likely an enticing target for Hoskins, considering he'd spent his entire MLB career in Philadelphia before signing with the Brewers in January.... See More ... Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Expected to hit on field Monday
Hoskins (hamstring) plans to advance to hitting on the field Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hoskins will clear a significant hurdle in his recovery from a right hamstring strain, as Monday's activity will mark his first time hitting on the field since he landed on the injured list. While there is still no set timetable for his return to action, it sounds like Hoskins isn't too far off from a rehab assignment. "I feel as good as I can," Hoskins said.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Lands on IL
The Brewers placed Hoskins on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right hamstring strain. Hoskins tweaked his hamstring while running to first base during Monday's game against Pittsburgh and had to come out of the game. He'll now miss at least the next 10 days because of his injury, likely spelling more reps at first base for Jake Bauers and Owen Miller, the latter who was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move.... Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Hoskins (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Pirates, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hoskins had to depart Monday's loss to Pittsburgh because of a right hamstring injury. He underwent an MRI and is slated to receive a second opinion, so there's no word yet on a possible trip to the injured list. Owen Miller has been added to the Brewers' taxi squad in case a roster move is ultimately required. Jake Bauers will handle first base for the Brewers on Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Headed for MRI
Hoskins will undergo an MRI on his hamstring Tuesday morning, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hoskins left Monday's series opener with a hamstring injury, but the severity of the issue remains unclear. Milwaukee should have a better idea of his availability going forward after reviewing Hoskins' test results.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Lifted early vs. Pirates
Hoskins left Monday's game against Pittsburgh after suffering a hamstring injury, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hoskins appeared to tweak something in the bottom of the second inning after singling to right field, and he was immediately removed from the matchup. He's headed to the clubhouse for further evaluation and will be considered day-to-day until more information comes to light.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Pops homer in win
Hoskins went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Cardinals. Hoskins' blast came in the seventh inning off reliever Andrew Kittredge, and it put the Brewers ahead for good. Over the last four games, Hoskins is 5-for-15 with three homers and eight RBI. The first baseman's surge has him up to nine long balls, 26 RBI, 17 runs scored, a stolen base and a .233/.338/.481 slash line through 36 contests overall.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Retreats to bench Wednesday
Hoskins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals. Hoskins will get the afternoon off in the series finale in Kansas City after he had started in each of the Brewers' previous eight games. Gary Sanchez will spell Hoskins at first base.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Heads to bench Sunday
Hoskins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Yankees. Hoskins started the previous 15 games but will receive Sunday off after he posted a .799 OPS during that span. Gary Sanchez will bat fifth as Milwaukee's designated hitter in the series finale against New York.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Three hits, two RBI in win
Hoskins went 3-for-5 in Thursday's win over the Pirates with a double, two RBI and a stolen base. Hoskins singled home William Contreras in his second at-bat to tie the game at 3-3 and later added an RBI double to give Milwaukee a one-run lead. The first baseman has recorded at least one RBI in four of his last six games, while Thursday marked his second three-hit effort of the season. With that said, he's still batting just .219 (16-for-73) in April with four homers and 13 RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Clubs fourth homer
Hoskins went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI during Saturday's 12-5 win against the Cardinals. The 31-year-old first baseman started the scoring with a two-run homer during the opening frame and followed up with an RBI single in the sixth. Hoskins has reached base in each of his past 11 games, though he's hitting just .227 during that stretch. However, his .807 OPS through 18 games on the season is more palatable.... See More ... Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Getting into groove
Hoskins has gone 2-for-9 (.222) with a solo home run, three total runs scored and a 3:6 BB:K through four games this spring. Coming off a torn ACL, Hoskins did not make his first appearance of the spring until Mar. 1, but he has reached base at least once in all four games he's played. Both hits he has recorded came over the last three days, so it seems he is settling in. He has not encountered any setbacks since making his debut, so he is on track to start at first base for the Brewers on Opening Day.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: No restrictions in spring training
Hoskins (knee) said Monday that he expects to be full-go at the beginning of spring training, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hoskins missed the entire 2023 season after tearing his left ACL during spring training, but he was close to being cleared to return during the postseason for the Phillies and should head into his first camp with the Brewers with no lingering limitations. Slated to turn 31 in March, Hoskins is set to be Milwaukee's regular first baseman in 2024 but should also see ample time at designated hitter.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Lands with Brewers
Hoskins (knee) signed a two-year, $34 million contract with the Brewers on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Hoskins was forced to sit out all of 2023 after tearing his left ACL during a spring training game. Despite the slugger's injury history, Milwaukee will bring Hoskins in to take over as its everyday first baseman and fill one of the team's biggest offseason needs. Hoskins reached the 30-homer mark twice in six seasons with the Phillies, and playing his home games at American Family Field could help him get there again in 2024 if he stays healthy. Hoskins will be allowed to opt out of his new contract after the first season.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Not part of NLCS roster
Hoskins (knee) isn't included on the Phillies' roster for the team's National League Championship Series versus the Diamondbacks. Hoskins continues to work out at the team's spring training complex in Florida as he works his way back from late-March surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. He's reportedly coming along well in his recovery, and though he won't be available for the NLCS, Hoskins hasn't been ruled out, he could be added to the Phillies roster for the World Series, should Philadelphia advance. The 30-year-old is scheduled for free agency this offseason.... See More ... See Less -
Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Ready for live batting practice
Hoskins (knee) will begin taking live batting practice Wednesday in Clearwater, Florida, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Hoskins is joining some other players in the Phillies organization at the team's spring training complex for what is being called "stay-ready camp." The 30-year-old slugger has been out all season while recovering from March surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee, but the hope is that he could become an option if Philly makes it to the World Series....
